What is your definition of freedom? Take a second to imagine life without limits.
What does your day look like?
No need for a Job... Only doing what you choose... What would you do..? Who would you be?
Big questions, I know...
When you dig deep? What would you want your day to really be like if money was no longer an object? (After the initial 12 months of taking a holiday of course) What would you fill your life with?
This sentence is intended to give you the time to actually consider that ;)
The Difference between a JOB and WORK
Over the last 2 years my personal definition of freedom has changed... It's still the absence of a JOB, But not in the way I originally envisioned it.
When I had a job, I struggled to differentiate between a Job and Work
Two words that are often interchanged to describe the same thing
Over the last couple of years I have now found a distinct difference between the two.
You may be surprised... Or maybe not so surprised that work can be very enjoyable. The real key... The difference... is having 100% control over what you do for work without the pressure of earning money just to stay alive...
The absence of pressure, not the absence of personal progress and contribution
The choice to focus on what is more important to you. It's about loving what you do. It's about being inspired everyday to jump out of bed and take on the day.
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” Patanjali
There is no question... Financial freedom has dramatically changed my life in so many areas. Allowing more time for, Fun, Fitness, Friends, Family Travel , but the most dramatic change is the fulfillment of doing something you are passionate about.
Perhaps you are one of the fortunate people that already has a job that you love... Something you would do for free (Congratulations if that is you) or, Perhaps you are like I was.. Happy enough with your job, but always knowing there was more to life... My advice to you is this. Don't give up... Freedom can and will be achieved if you want it bad enough. You just need to take the right steps and stick with it. You simply must do things in a certain way.
Certain: (1: The absence of doubt. 2: Done in a definite or particular way)
Two things are required for this certainty to occur.
First; You must believe it's possible.
Truly possible for you to be a success.
Over the many years of conditioning that we are
all exposed to, it's ingrained in us that only
a select few, "Elite" "Talented" "In The
Know"people can ever achieve high level success.
That in order to reach that level, one must have
been born into money or experienced a huge
stroke of luck. That is a lie.
You can achieve great things, but... YOU must believe you can.
Second; You must believe that you are worthy
Not that you are necessarily capable just yet, but simply worthy...This alone can be a hard one for some people. I recommend reading personal development books and watching a whole lot of motivational videos if you struggle here. Do what it takes to get in the right head space and level of belief that will allow you to persevere
You can do a thing only if you have the belief that it can be done.
Then what... Start with a method that actually
works. Learn what is required to build the
foundation that will continue to pay you for years,
It's that simple... I am not pretending that it's
easy, but the decision to do that, is simple and...
I can't express in words how worth it it will be for
you. It's simply a feeling that of contentment that
I sincerely hope everyone who reads this reads
"The freedom to focus on work that is meaningful"
That's my new definition of freedom. The ability to then live that life. A life of choice.
How do we get it? First, we have to know what we want... What would you choose if you could have anything?
The answer to that question is your "why" discovering this why is the most important thing you can ever do. Increase your level of belief that you can do it (because you can) and use this enthusiasm to drive you toward this freedom by setting goals (guide to Goal setting here) and you may be very surprised how everything will fall into place.
Remember... Do things in a certain way... Everyday
