Today, I would like to help answer a question I get all the time...
"Should I join XYZ business?"
With so many businesses online.. Which one should you join? What offers the best chance of success for you?
So today, let me give you some tips that unfortunately I learned the hard way... Just following these will help you identify what business you should join and focus on.
NOTE: There are NO specific business recommendations in this post.
Only general information to help you avoid my mistakes and make good decisions online.
When I get an email with this question, (should I join XYZ business?) it's not that someone is trying to get me to join them, it's an honest question of whether I think it's a viable and valuable business. I am very humbled that these people value my opinion :) ... and I thought, perhaps many people including yourself come up against this too. So here we go...
3 simple things you can begin doing right now to avoid scams and succeed more online.
1: Find a stable business.
Obvious... But, if you have been online for a while, you will agree, it's crucial!
Money in the bank is the only money worth talking about online.
Not "earnings" or "sales" or anything else. The only figure that counts is the money that hits your bank account. The fastest way to increase that figure is to focus on business that lasts.
A business that lasts in the market, and a business that lasts with you (your motivation and your continued energy)
Often its the later that fails first. Our ability to persevere even when times get hard, or slow... We have all had times when the business we joined is still operating, but we give up... because, it didn't meet our expectations and we lost the motivation and excitement we once had for it.
We will cover this a little later, but how do we find a business that we know will last in the marketplace?
There are a couple of key aspects of a business, we can look for, to help us make better decisions.
A. Be wary of speculation.
Just like speculating in the stock market, if you get it right, you can do very well.
if you get it wrong... You lose
While speculation can be very profitable, in the make money online arena most of the speculative type business is built on nothing more than hype. Your money is at a MUCH higher risk than that of the stock market.
In the stock market, while risk is present, it's unusual that the stock price hits Zero overnight.
In some online businesses.. The doors close without warning.
This is all the more reason to avoid business like these and seek ones that are long term.
It may feel slower initially... but sure beats "rolling the dice" in my opinion
Let's say, the speculation is on a "revolutionary new product"
the hype is built around this "revolutionary new product" and all members are encouraged to refer others on the speculation (sold more like certainty) that this new business or product will "take the world by storm."
We will talk more about the product below, however, a couple of classic examples
The new Facebook, The new amazing app, The new bitcoin, The new advertising rev-share, some GURU trader that is going to "share" all of their profits with you... you get the idea
While there is opportunity in these areas, just be aware, they are speculative in nature and with that comes greater risk.
One last thing before we move on... The more speculative it is and the more hyped up it is.. Typically, the shorter its life. This means you have limited time to make money and often, all the work you put in can disappear overnight.
As exciting as theses businesses may seem... It's important to be aware of that.
B. Valuable Product
It's doesn't matter how exciting the business is... If the product is no good (real, actual use, that is priced competitively with true market value) the business will eventually fail.
There are no exceptions to that.
Eventually... When the hype is gone... If the product is poor... Interest will be lost... The business will lose steam and close.
A simple question to always ask.
Is the product valuable and would you use it even if there was no affiliate marketing attached to it?
NOTE: Product = Physical, electronic, educational, entertainment, marketing... everything!
What is the true use and value of it as a customer?
If your answer to that is, "I don't use the product, but I hear its good" STOP,
Go back and learn about the product. Determine its true worth in the marketplace (no affiliate marketing attached) and decide if it's viable.
Just that distinction alone will save you a lot of money.
Also, if the product is good, but the campaign's focus is NOT on the product and predominantly on recruitment. This is no ideal either.
I would like to elaborate on this point for a moment.
We are all here looking to make money online and for that reason it is necessary that we share ideas and businesses that pay commissions in one form or another at some point.
Some businesses have great products and also a strong compensation plan that is designed for recruiting new members (often called business distributors)
That is so common in this industry that it can be expected that you will see an emphasis on marketing, however, we don't want that to be the predominant focus. I would like to encourage you to promote businesses with fantastic products that still pay commissions.
It is possible to find them and works out far better for you on the long run.
2: Gut feeling
So important and so easy to dismiss
If the first thing you thought when someone showed you an idea was... "I don't trust it" Then listen to yourself.
Too many people find themselves in situations that they don't want to be in simply because they didn't listen to that feeling.
Do what feels right, all the time.
Even if things still don't work out (nothing is ever certain) at least you will have made the conscious decision to take action at the time and you won't be filled with regret "I should have listened to myself"
Instead, "I tried my best, it didn't work out and that's okay" again, nothing is ever certain and all we can do is our best.
Or... The preferred outcome '
"I listened to myself and it worked... I made money and I take full responsibility for that deliberate decision" (give yourself a pat on the back)
Don't dismiss a great opportunity for lack of understanding and don't join worthless businesses from lack of understanding.
no matter how you look at it, it is our job to conduct due diligence before making any decisions
If someone shows you an idea, do some investigations and decide for yourself if its a viable and valuable business. It is after all... Your money
3: Love it and be excited about it.
If there is one thing that makes money online... It's your excitement about the business.
If you can't find it in you to be excited about the idea you want to share with others... Then that is not the business for you.
Just like in #1 (Product) It's hard to remain positive and excited about a money game... If the only thing you can get excited about is the commissions... Then steer clear.
A typical scenario is that someone joins a hyped up business with the excitement of earning commissions, however, ends up making no commissions... In turn loses the excitement because they are not getting any results (commissions) and there is nothing else to talk about because the product is useless.
This inevitably leads to them quitting the business left wondering why.
You MUST love what the business provides. Income? Yes.. But also products and/or services
If you love the product and you use it yourself... You are your own testimonial... You'll surprise yourself just how much success will come to you.
Too many people drift around online without focusing on something that interests them... Something that they can get excited about... dabbling in various businesses and getting nowhere... because they never ask themselves...
What is this business about and does it suit me?
When you think about the people you know are making money... What are they doing? I am sure you will agree, they are pumped for the business they are promoting... They love it... They live and breathe it, and that excitement shines through when they tell others about it
Find a business online with a product that you find interesting... Something that you enjoy... Something that feels right... Get to know the ins and outs... Become an expert on it... And then focus.
When you choose a business you are aligned with and decide to learn more and more about it, with that comes a more intelligent and comprehensive conversation with others. More excitement, more energy and above and beyond all the hype... You will have a deeper desire to share this valuable information with others to help them too. By doing that... Results will come to you.
This may seem obvious, but easily forgotten... So many of the offers that I see across my desk as a single glance I know its only got a few months to live... Yet the person sending it is caught up in the hype'
"you should see how many People is in my power line" "this is setting up to be the next (insert FB, App, Bitcoin, advertising sources, revolutionary marketing system, trading software) the list is endless. I am not trying to be negative... But they all have one thing in common.
Speculation! "Engaging in business transactions involving considerable risk but offering the chance of large gains"
They are just ideas... Perhaps great ones, but just ideas all the same and it is all the hype that clouds judgment.
While this may already make perfect sense to you, I have compiled a quick checklist to help you determine if the business you are in or looking to jump in, is right for you.
Check list: Is this business right for you?
1. How does this business feel to me and why?
2. Is the businesses product legitimate and viable?
3. Is the product competitive in the marketplace?
4. Why is the product competitive in the marketplace?
5. Would I be proud to put my face to this?
6. Would I share this idea with others if I didn't earn a commission?
7. Would I show my family?
8. Am I excited about this?
9. Does this feel like gambling?
10. Is this purely speculative?
11. What is the businesses emphasis. product or recruitment?
Simple questions.. But your honest answers may just keep you from making costly mistakes online and lead you toward the business you have been waiting for, to create enormous success in your life.
There is no question in my mind that you can succeed (Whatever that means for you, but the general more choice in life) Aligning yourself with the right business for you... Will propel you much faster... Allow for more focus, more commitment over the long term and make you more money than ever.
I hope this helped you,
See you next time
